Yet She Still Believes.

Seattle woman Naveena Shine drops attempt to live on light

Remember Naveena?  She’s the lady who, about a month ago, decided she’d stop eating and try to live off of the universe’s energy as a “breatharian” … y’know, since that’s been so successful in the past …

At “Living On Light” we propose that we have a nutritional source already embedded within our body/mind/Spiritual systems that can give us exactly what we need to be healthy and well. Since we do not yet know exactly what that source is I am symbolically calling it Light.

Well, after about 47 days and 33 pounds of weight loss, Neveena has abandoned her attempt to show the world that the notion of humans needing food is one big scam.  She posted on her Facebook page that there’s no way for her to tell whether she’s actually living on light or just starving herself to death.

Doctors are putting their money on the latter, saying that since humans don’t have a way to photosynthesize, they need to get their energy from consuming food, a point evidently lost on poor Naveena.  Even through all of this, she still maintains that this is by no means a failure, and that the possibility still exists that humans are capable of defying evolution and biology to derive our energy from something even she can’t quite figure out.

But, as with every misunderstood visionary, the world isn’t ready for this knowledge.

“From the feedback I am getting, it is becoming patently clear that most of the world is by no means ready to receive the information I am attempting to produce,” Shine said. “Even if it were true that a person can ‘live on light’ and I were successful in demonstrating that, I see that it would be synonymous with putting a non-driver behind the wheel of a huge truck. It would be an accident in the making.”

Dear, you were an accident in the making.  I’m just glad you stopped in time.  Now sit back, relax, have a cheeseburger or two, and experience the wonders of the metabolic process.

If only the millions of people across the centuries who died in famines had known that all they really needed was the right label, the world would be a better place. Far more crowded, but better. Right?

  2. Breatharian? If there is a God, honey, he’s going to be doing a giant facepalm when you arrive.
